What do we do?
5D develops feedback-driven behaviors that allow efficient response in complex, critical domains within defense, transportation and energy sectors. A behavior is a learned pattern of responses to perceptual stimuli. The goal is to reduce phenomenal real-world complexity into simple outputs that optimize all manner of vehicle motion. We develop real-time, reactive behaviors that can dramatically increase the safety, speed and effectiveness of mobile vehicles. Streaming real-world input (e.g. laser, radar, inertial measurement, energy consumption, encoder data, video, etc..) is noisy, complicated and varied in nature, but the output of our behaviors is simple (e.g. turn left, turn right, speed up, slow down). This allows us to provide elegant, simple interactions with complex machines. Our unique facility for combining human and machine intelligence is a key differentiator in the field.
