5D Software Products

The 5D software transforms a wide variety of mobile machines into high-value, intelligent team members. 5D has leveraged the major opportunity that exists to consolidate component intellectual property and provide the software that makes these capabilities work together to accomplish full tasks and missions. Within the 5D library, drivers exist that allow plug and play connectivity to multiple sensors both for situation awareness, autonomous driving and application sensing.

Available 5D software includes:

5D Behavior Engine™ control package - Orchestrates perceptual, behavior, communication, visualization tools on a single robot. It allows plug and play of robots, radios and sensors.
Laser Mapping Package : This package augments the Behavior Engine™ with local mapping, and positioning data. The software essentially builds a video game style representation of the world on the fly as the vehicle operates.
Improved Teleoperation Package: includes advanced behaviors for assisted teleoperation control, obstacle avoidance and guarded motion.
5D Intelligent Control Environment™ software runs on the operator control device. It provides visualization and tasking to communicate with the Behavior Engine™ as well as analysis and visualization tools for storing, retrieving and analyzing sensor data.

When used together, 5D software provides a way to make an abstracted picture out of copious real-time data from many different sources (i.e. robots, unmanned air systems, soldiers, and unattended ground sensors). Graphical effects are used to render data into symbolic entities with semantic meaning. Unlike raw data, the graphical symbols of the 5D Graphical Interface provide a unique means to find recognizable order within disorder. Within the ICE display the user can identify events and features as they form.
